I am a Stonyfield Blogger and received an item to review from PrAna to facilitate this review. The views, opinions and experiences, however, are my own.
Today I have been asked to share a little bit about my style, my favorite Oh My Yog! flavor and what makes me, well, me. My style has evolved over the years and adapts and changes as we move to new climates and as I continue to “grow up”. Since moving to rainy Washington and being busy with three children, I have been a big fan of comfort. And apples. So it should be clear which Oh My Yog! flavor that uses this local Washington fruit is my favorite.
Although I have embraced the cliché sweatpants and ponytail look at home, I like to be comfortable but a little less frumpy when I am out and about. Yoga pants and jeans are my usual go-to items, with the occasional knit dress or skirt with leggings, but I do not spend a lot of time deciding on clothing for the day. As boring as that sounds, it is one less thing for me to worry about on a busy morning, so I need to make sure my comfortable clothes have a little personality to them.
I have been working hard the past few months downsizing my closet and our household items and although I have a long way to go, I am trying hard to choose quality over quantity. I have been trying to de-clutter for years, but I always end up with a similar amount of stuff as things cycle in and out. I read the book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up after seeing so many friends rave about it, and it helped give me some additional tools to take my efforts to the next level. I am striving to have fewer things surround me, but have those things be what I adore in the here and now.
This fall I was introduced to a clothing company called PrAna by my friends over at Stonyfield, and they are a company that makes organic and versatile clothing. They fit the quality or quantity criteria as I become pickier about what goes into my closet, and their clothing is made for movement and comfort, so I happily agreed to review an item. Although it was a close call between the Diva Jacket and the Bridget Lined Shirt, I decided to go with the jacket since the rainy season now in full swing. This is something that I could wear daily carting kids to the bus stop, school and to/from activities, so it needed to be warm and waterproof.
I typically do not go for white (because: kids), however, it was the color that stood out to me, and I decided to go for it. There have been a couple of instances where children have gotten stains on it (like a friend’s six-year-old who just had to come up and hug me with his face covered in Halloween face paint at a Trunk or Treat!) and thankfully I have been able to get them out. I wore this trick or treating with the kids in the pouring rain and it kept me warm and lived up to its waterproof promise. I like the longer length of this style, although they have a shorter version and it has been great for the blustery, rainy days the past couple of weeks. It has been warm, lightweight and comfortable, and works well for the Western Washington weather. I was not sure about the knit side panels at first, but these add flexibility and comfort, which has been nice when carrying a toddler or running errands.
The good news is that I may still treat myself to that Bridget shirt or a new hat, because PrAna is offering TCDR readers a 15% off coupon code through December 15th!
