We have been getting more germs, bugs, coughs and sniffles this year than any other year now that my oldest is in school and it has been a rough few months! We have all taken turns getting one ailment or another, but one frequently recurring symptom for my kids, particularly my girls, has been a cough. Part of me was hoping that I would be able to learn more about the Zarbee’s brand and products in this Mom Central blog tour without having to actually put them to the test quite yet, but my girls have both started getting a cough again this week.
Lucky for me my box of Zarbee’s cough syrups arrived last week so I had them on hand and we have been using them a few times a day for my five-year-old and ten-month-old. It feels strange to be able to have a honey-like remedy to give to my infant, since I am so accustomed to steering clear of honey for the first 12 months, but the infant formula uses agave nectar, which is safe for infants. It has similar properties to honey to provide some relief, without the risks honey can pose for children less than one year of age.
My five-year-old has been taking the Zarbee’s cough syrup a couple of times a day and the night formula (which includes melatonin) before bed at night. She asks for it throughout the day and at bedtime, so it must taste pretty good to her and soothe her throat. My ten-month-old started getting a cough yesterday and it felt strange to have a natural cough remedy to offer her and although she makes a “not sure what I think about this sweet, grape-tasting syrup” face each time I give her a dose, it seems to provide some relief.
We will continue to use saline drops to clear stuffy noses, humidifiers to help with congestion and essential oils to target various symptoms, but it is nice to have a natural cough syrup to add to our first resort remedies. All of the Zarbee’s products are drug free, dye free, gluten-free and available both online and at grocery stores and pharmacies near you. Shop at Zarbee’s online and get $1.50 off and free shipping to try their cough syrup today.
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Zarbee’s Naturals. I received product samples and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
