Awaiting My Spring Arrival & Join the Kelly’s Closet Egg Hunt

Easter is just weeks away and with my baby girl due in ten days I am realizing that I am not on top of my usual Easter planning. I have been too busy nesting for our spring addition to realize that the end of March is just weeks away and I had better get a game plan together since I may be too sleep deprived after the baby arrives to put anything coherent together. I typically give the kids a handful of books and candy and I started a tradition last year where my kids set their empty baskets outside their door before bed to be filled by the Easter bunny. Then we can reuse baskets each year without there being any suspicions about why the Easter bunny brings the same basket every year and we are not wasting or accumulating dozens of baskets.

Now back to nesting. Curious about what have I been up to?

Sister Quilt Stack

I made sister lap quilts for the girls, have had help rearranging and shifting furniture in different rooms to get ready for baby, continue to organize and reorganize things throughout the house and have also been getting miscellaneous household and financial things in order.

Nursery Rocker

Although little miss will bunk in my room for the first few months, I have been getting the future nursery ready and treated myself to a new rocker to replace our old, beat up one. This beauty has the perfect support for my delicate back and for nursing, soft organic cotton upholstery, rocking feet that will not break like the gliders I have previously owned and beautiful curves. Sometimes there are not a lot of needs with a third baby, but there are definitely many things that need upgrading or just bring joy (especially when purchased on clearance with a coupon code). I washed my newborn diapers this week, have my hospital bag packed and almost ready to go and will continue to nest as I wait for the magical day when she will make her entrance into this world.

KellysClosetEggHuntGetting spring fever or want to add some color and fluff to your Easter baskets this year? Kelly’s Closet is hosting a fun little egg hunt across some blogs for a chance to win a bundle of fluff and get an exclusive coupon code while you are at it. You can get the full details on the Diaper Shops blog, but basically you can enter to win a lovely spring bundle of fluff and will be hunting for hidden “eggs” on each of the participating blogs to put letters together to spell out an exclusive coupon code for this event.

To find my hidden egg you will want to “drop down” and see what style of newborn diaper was my favorite with my son. We will see very shortly if another style or a particular brand stand out to me when cloth diapering my new daughter!

It’s usually still too cold to show off diapers at Easter time here. We haven’t picked out Easter outfits yet, but they are generally pastels. So, a pastel Flip and stay dry insert for the 2 year old, and next year a Pastel Capri (thinking pink) cover and prefolds or insert for the newbie (not here yet).

I think a brightly colored FuzziBunz would do nicely! Though my two oldest are now out of cloth and I have to wait two more months for my son to be born. :)

  4. I need a Thirsties duo diaper Rose size 2. I have a size one and it no longer fits baby girl. Also a BGE in Clementine for my son. Those would be great! :)

I definitely think the BG elemental in Lovelace will be perfect! But baby won’t be debuting till late spring :)

To match our Easter dress a Kawaii heavy wetter in aqua aloha. But on my wish list is a Tots Bots Easy fit in chicken little.

  9. I’m hoping newborn will be here by Easter so I can sport any cute fluff!

  10. All I have is a couple of pastel colored covers- one Flip and one Thirsties. The rest are either bolder colors or kinda blah. I can’t wait to start showing them off though. My baby girl was born at the end of September so we didn’t have much time before it got cold. Looking forward to it. :)

  11. Anything bright but the spring colors are catching my eye right now.

Hi, could you share a bit more about the type of rocker you purchased. I have back issues myself and thought that a glider would be a good investment, but am rethinking after reading your post. Please do share more info (pros of rocker vs glider, features to look for, good price point, etc.

    • I originally owned a Shermag glider for my daughter, but after the base broke twice (they sent one base replacement under warranty) we switched to a small lazyboy type rocker. It has been fine, but got beat up quickly and even with its smaller side was too deep for proper posture. The new one I got is a Pottery Barn Kids wingback style rocker. I chose the traditional rocker feet so there are no mechanisms to break and the depth, height and everything is designed for good posture and nursing. I lucked out that I found a clearance fabric and coupon code, but it was still a bit of a splurge. Still I could have invested in something similar from the beginning and saved myself from going through two other rockers first! Hope that helps mama 😉
