Meet my gold medalist. Okay, so in preschool gymnastics everyone gets a medal at the end of the season, but she was still thrilled and we know that she deserved it! Gymnastics is not something that came naturally to our little princess and took a lot of hard work. She has always been ahead of the game in language and other skills and we really wanted something that would get her active and teach her the importance and rewards of hard work!
One year later, she is more confident and a very enthusiastic gymnast. We have been talking a lot about gymnastics at home as we gear up for the summer Olympics and we have watched old videos on YouTube over the past year which she watches with wide, fascinated eyes. We cannot wait for her to see some of the action and inspiration (more or less) live, and get excited to start back up with a new teacher this fall.
I absolutely love this shot of her doing a seat drop on the trampoline before her class started (and before I got a chance to pull her hair back from practice). Curls everywhere! I do not know if she will always love gymnastics or stick with it as she gets older, but I love to see her determination as she learns new skills and seeing the joy she feels as she accomplishes something she could not do before.
