Just What the Doctor Ordered #bbcstl

Rubbing shoulders with Tiffany from the SITS girls

I cannot believe it has taken me almost two weeks to write about my fabulous Saturday in St. Louis at Bloggy Boot Camp, but things were a little hectic with a certain little girl turning four years old last week. I am still in denial about that.

This was my first blogging conference after three years of blogging, since the timing or logistics have never been right over the past couple of years to attend other events like BlogHER and Blissdom. Since St. Louis is only two hours away and the conference was only one day long I had to jump at the chance a couple of months ago to grab a ticket.

It was just what I needed. The past six months have been emotionally draining for me as there were many personal and family circumstances that had consumed time and emotional energy and I just have not felt my tip top self. After the important decisions were made and I found some resolution I was ready to jump back in, but needed a little inspiration and motivation.

Yes, the educational parts of it were fantastic and I took away many things I would like to start to implement, but more importantly I was surrounded by other bloggers with a wide range of backgrounds, niches and experiences that gave me such perspective. Where I have come from and the bigger picture of my potential and the direction I am headed.

It was the people I met and the connections I made that I found the most memorable. Everyone in that conference room knew what a blog was and had such positive, supportive energy. I got to meet Annie from Mama Dweeb, and met a local blogger who only lives 30 minutes away! Kristi from Live and Love Outloud is a gifted photographer and an inspirational woman empowering women with her breast lump journey. I was blessed to be able to bring her a home cooked meal and meet her sweet family after her procedure last week.

So with renewed motivation, inspiration and direction I move forward during this fitting season symbolic of rebirth and growth.

I got to chat with Laurie from Tip Junkie

  1. I’m so glad to have met you, Emi, and so fortunate that you came by with a meal following my surgery. :) Can’t wait to have lunch with you, but this week might be another bad week. :( I’ll give you a call in the next day or so. Hope you’re doing well!
