My Guilty Pleasure is Chocolate ~Plus Dove Chocolate Discoveries Starter Kit #Giveaway

I can’t remember how or when it started, but I would imagine it was probably love at first sight. Every memory I have of chocolate is a sweet one (pun intended) and growing up I had the opportunity to taste chocolates from around the world. My father would travel a good portion of the year and on his international trips he would always bring little souvenirs. When visiting Europe it was almost always guaranteed he would also bring home a box of chocolates which we would be just as excited about as any of the other trinkets or collectibles he would bring home.

The Belgian chocolates were by far the best and most luxurious confections over the years, which is understandable as they have an excellent reputation for their chocolate. I remember one trip, however, where my father shared with us his experience where he spoke to a taxi cab driver who insisted to my father than Belgium did not have the best chocolates, but France! He was then taken to a shop where he purchased some truffles and when we tasted the squares after his return, they melted in our mouths with a deep, rich, buttery flavor. So I would say that Belgium and France are neck and neck in my mind when it comes to chocolate.

Although I have tasted chocolates from around the world, I have never met a piece of chocolate I didn’t like. There is a piece perfect for celebrations, another that calls you on those “terrible, horrible no good very bad days” and the grocery isles are always stocked with ones appropriate for an every day treat. I had no idea, however, until last Christmas that Dove had a high end line of chocolate confections, drinks, recipes and mixes available for purchase through home parties. I was at a luncheon for a club I am a part of and there were many women’s small business vendors present for club members to do some holiday shopping and was really surprised when I saw the Dove Chocolate Discoveries table.

Did you know that you can both start your own Dove chocolate party business or attend parties and purchase divinely delectable chocolates, brownie mixes and other chocolate-themed confections? Well now you do! Although I still have not attended a traditional Dove Chocolate Discoveries home party, I was able to receive as sample Starter Kit that a chocolate discoveries small business owner would received when starting out. It included mounds of chocolate, an adorable fondue kit, stacks of catalogs, entertainment and recipe ideas books as well as all of the other paperwork needed to get started.

I enjoyed some of the bars with my daughter while unpacking the box, which are portioned perfectly for cooking, melting or eating, and there was also brownie and mousse mixes, chocolate martini mix, chai, and chocolate covered nuts. I enjoyed a fondue night with my in-laws and family last week where we dipped marshmallows, fruit, animal crackers and other yummies into the fondue and it was a hit! The chocolate is nothing like the Dove chocolate you think of from the supermarket and has a rich, sophisticated flavor and although chocolate is good year-round, the entertainment guides and catalog had me thinking about how perfect the products and recipes would be for the upcoming holidays.

It is Women’s Small Business Month and in honor of that Dove is spreading the word about their small business opportunity and hosting a giveaway. I owned my own small business back in college and the catalogs, order forms and getting started guides seem easy to follow and flexible to meet each individuals schedule and personality. So if you are in the market for some extra spending money, using it for fundraisers or want an excuse to eat chocolate, this may be an opportunity you may not have been aware of in the past you would like to consider. And for the rest of you chocolate lovers who may not be in the market to start a small business, you may want to look into hosting a party or attending one!
