Greetings from Japan!

We survived a two day drive to Houston followed by two plane rides to get us across the Pacific ocean to Japan! I am almost caught up going through hundreds of emails and I will start publishing articles again. I just wanted to keep you updated since I disappeared for the past week, but I will be working part time from my parent’s home for the next 12 days or so.

It was a big ordeal to get to both Houston and Japan and although I don’t look forward to the flight or drive home, it is great to be with family and have my husband with us for three whole weeks. I don’t think he’s ever been able to take a vacation this long, so we are taking advantage of it with our international travels. The kids are also learning to be more flexible about sleeping away from home and are being immersed in the culture in which I grew up.

Our stroller didn’t make our tight connection in San Francisco after a delay, so my new Britax baby carrier has been getting a lot of use and even my Mom and Dad have been converted to baby wearing! My dad carried my little guy in the carrier at the Kyoto imperial palace (which had stone gravel which would have been tricky with a stroller anyways) and my mom took him to the local market to get groceries yesterday afternoon and raved about the great back support it had for her bad back. They do a lot of walking here and there are a couple flights of steep steps just to get to my parent’s front door so although it was risky to bring a new carrier on the trip, it is turning out well!
