Up until this fall most high quality or specialty fabrics used by individuals to make cloth diapers and other baby gear were limited to a handful of online retailers. It was almost like a special circle or club you had to be in to know where you could get PUL, snaps and other notions and it was almost only available (to my knowledge) online. At least online shops or coops were the only places I had found and personally purchased these products. I would often have friends or readers ask if they could pick up X, Y or Z at Joann’s or other popular retailers and the answer would inevitably be “no”.
Well I was thrilled to get my weekly Joann Fabrics email last week and see the new Babyville Boutique product line for sale! So this means that some cloth diaper and baby gear fabrics can now be purchased at local stores like Joann’s and Hobby Lobby. So whether you want to save extra money by tackling your cloth diapers or projects, love to sew, or have a friend or family member who is willing to help you out, the materials are getting more readily accessible.
Once I finish settling in after our extended travels I will be tackling a couple of projects using the available books and some of the materials in their product line and report back to you my thoughts. I love to sew and am blessed to have really top quality machines to tackle this, however, I am just a hobby sewer so I feel like I can bring a bit of perspective for both intermediate and novice seamstresses. I am not a professional and do not have a ton of experience sewing with PUL, but plan on making a cloth diaper and non-cloth diaper product to share with you and share with you my thoughts of the patterns, directions and quality of materials.
So stay tuned and if you just can’t wait go ahead and check out some of the product line at Joann Fabrics, Hobby Lobby or Hancock Fabrics. And on a side note, if you sign up for Joann’s email newsletters they give out coupon codes on a regular basis for additional savings!

I received sample products to facilitate my upcoming review. I have no affiliation with Joann Fabrics, but just have been shopping there and receiving their emails for over five years which is why I shared their information.
