{Almost} Back in the Swing of Things

We got home this week and it has been a whirlwind of laundry, unpacking, sorting through mail, cleaning and readjusting. I was almost feeling like a routine and bit of normalcy was in sight and then I got sick today. So I will chug along the best I can, but it may take me a couple of extra days to really get my steam going!

The trip was unbelievable, but long and exhausting. Although I wouldn’t change the trip for anything, I don’t plan on going on a vacation that long and to two entirely different locations for as long anytime in the future. Three and a half weeks is a long time to travel, be away from home and have your kids off of their routine. Too long. The kids did extremely well considering how much we did, how far we traveled and how packed our schedule was…but they both threw up when we got back to Texas from Japan last week. It was the first time either of them had ever thrown up and it was so sad.

I finally upgraded my super slow second generation iPhone to the new 4S last week while we were in Houston, so I am excited I will actually (effectively) be able to get a thing or two done when I’m away from home. Woo hoo. I figure it had been three and a half years since my last phone, so it was about time!

Anyways, what is your ideal length for a vacation? Too short and you feel like all you did was travel, but too long and you get exhausted, thrown off schedule, and in our case sick! I think 7-10 days sounds like a lovely length for a get away, what about you?
