Color it By Numbers Review

My three-year-old continues to get more computer saavy as the months go on and we have even had to set up passwords to keep her from sneaking online (Daddy made her some shortcut icons on the desktop). So when the opportunity came along to review coloring software for the computer, since my daughter loves to drawn and paint on paper, I thought I’d give it a try. My daughter was slow to warm up the first session we sat down for, but now will color picture after picture independently and is excited to share her creations with the family.

What I liked about this program was that she could color by numbers or color freely color depending on her mood and she loved all three themes (animals, princess and vehicles). The music can get a little redundant (songs only change between pictures, so if they take a while to color a particular picture you hear that song for quite a while), but the mute button can fix that pretty easily. It didn’t seem to bother my daughter though, and she always asked me where’s the music when I would mute it out.

I was surprised that after being shown how to do it once, she caught onto the concept of coloring by numbers and is now an expert! This is a fun activity for a rainy day (which we have a lot here in Missouri this time of the year) or to offer something a little different in the routine at home. At $9.99 per coloring book, it is relatively affordable considering how quickly we go through coloring books and each picture can be colored over and over again. A sample version with two coloring sheets can be downloaded if you want to try it out. For more information visit http://coloritbynumbers.com/.

Samples of the products mentioned in the review were provided for this review. No other compensation was received and the views and opinions are my own.
