Please don’t judge me, when I tell you a secret: I am terrible at taking my prenatal vitamins. OK, now that it is out in the open, I have to make it clear that I want the best for my little bun in the oven, and try to eat well and I do take it sometimes. Just not as often as I should. Part of this is the negative experience I had in my first pregnancy, where on top of my daily nausea and vomiting I threw up every time I took one. It also doesn’t help that it feels like I’m swallowing a fist as it goes down my throat either.
Nature Made has just come out with a Prenatal Vitamin, perfect for when you are TTCing, pregnant and nursing. They have included 200mg of DHA as well, which is great for a growing or breastfeeding baby. The size of the pill isn’t all that different from the prenatal vitamins I was prescribed, however, it is a liquid softgel with a smooth outside and more pointed shape that I have found easier to swallow. So that probably combined with the fact that it’s a different prenatal vitamin, and knowing that I am killing two birds with one stone (and reviewing it, LOL) I have been much better at taking my prenatals! Now I just need to keep it up while I am breastfeeding
