Make Holiday Clean Up a Breeze By Knowing the Dos & Don’ts of Dishwashing with Finish Quantum & Jet-Dry Turbo Dry

Dish washing. It was something that I only needed to do a couple times a week when it was just my husband and I, but since we have started a family it seems like I am always filling up the dishwasher and running a cycle. What drives me the crazy is when dishes come out of the dishwasher and still need to be hand washed, because there is residue left behind or they come out cloudy and I take up more time and water to get the job done.

I have never been one to regularly use rinse aids, although I have purchased them in the past and I am not loyal to one brand of detergent or another. In addition, I recently purchased a few stainless steel pots and pans, because I have been growing tired of having every pot or pan be hand wash only and with another baby on the way I knew I needed to acquire some more dishwasher safe cookware. The issue I have been having with the stainless steel is that they don’t always come out clean and shiny– I am not sure if it is a hard water issue or a detergent issue, but I received a sample of the new Finish Quantum dishwashing detergent tablets and Jet-Dry Turbo-Dry this week which put either issue to the test.

I put the Jet-Dry Turbo-Dry in my forgotten rinse aid compartment right away and noticed afterwards that the Quantum detergent tablets already contain a rinse aid, but I figure it wouldn’t hurt to have both working to tackle my dishes. My first load after a messy chocolate birthday cake baking project  came out squeaky clean (including some stainless steel mixing bowls) and I tossed in some of the stainless steel pots and pans that had already been washed, but still had residue, in the next load. Whether you reserve these detergent tablets for lasagna night or holiday meal loads or use it everyday, I have been very impressed and would recommend it to anyone looking to save time or water by skipping the pre-rinsing in the sink or dishwasher.

  1. My biggest challenge are the knobs on my stainless cookware. I feel like I need to get a wire brush out each time to get the crud out from just under the bolt heads. But of course, I don't :)

  9. My biggest challenge is the fact that we are a family of 6 with NO Dishwasher!! :-) You don't have to enter me in the contest, I just thought I'd participate in the conversation! I did have a stainless steel pan that I couldn't get clean even with an SOS pad. Wish I could try these new tools to see if they would work.
