Wires, kids and pets do not mix. We do all we can to hide the cords and buy child (or pet) proof protectors, yet they still seem to get to then when you are not looking. I don’t know how many phone charging cords my cats have chewed up and ruined, and I am always trying to find safe places to plug things in so my daughter’s curiosity doesn’t lead to an unneeded “learning experience”. These places aren’t always the most convenient to access the phones and devices we need, so consequently, these items creep back out into “reachable” places.
What if you can ditch the chords? Well most of them. Powermat offers just that. Whether or not you have kids or pets, it is convenient to charge your phones and other portable devices, and if you do have a house full of kids and pets it minimizes the number of cords you have to hide or keep an eye on. Powermats are available in many different sizes and styles, and we received the portable version (pictured above) that folds into thirds for easy travel. We took the Power mat with us on vacation and it was great!
It packs fairly small, and is perfect for families to travel, as you can share the same charger for phones and portable game devices and you don’t have to untangle all the cords you frantically stuffed in your suitcase before heading out. It is even a great travel option if you travel on business and have multiple phones or other devices to travel with. Now that we are home we lay our Powermat out flat on our nightstand, much like the non-folding Powermats, and love it. It is great only need to set your phone down and voila! your phone is charging.
The only downside of the iPhone case is that you don’t have the option to use a heavier duty or personalized case, and a separate USB cord is necessary to sync it with your computer (cord included). Definitely not a deterrent, but something to keep in mind when making a decision of which Powermat would work best for you devices and preferences.
The power mat is available in a 2 device and 3 device size (travel version only available in 3 device size) and you can buy as little or as much as you need for all of your electronic devices. The phone cases are great, because there is no plugging or unplugging of devices, but the universal Powercube receiver allows you to plug in just about any device, as long as you have the right adapter tip.
