Taking a Toddler on Vacation Is…

Exhausting! Not that we didn’t know it would be, but we started the trip waking up at the crack of dawn and driving over 2 hours to the airport, only to have our flight cancelled and rescheduled for hours later. It made for a really long day of travelling and a hectic start to the trip, but it all worked out in the end. DD was homesick, off schedule and had a hard time napping and sleeping away from home (thus the exhaustion for all of us), but had fun on all of our adventures and was spoiled all week. It was still nice to do fun things as a family, have different scenery and have Daddy with us for the week.

We got back early this evening and I have sorted through the mail, started to unpack and will finish tomorrow. I hope to get caught up with life, emails and blogging this week and get back in to my old routine. There are lots of fun reviews and giveaways I have in store, so keep your eyes peeled for my emails once again! It was definitely a strange feeling not to be blogging for a whole week and hopefully you didn’t miss me too much while I was gone 😉

  2. Welcome back!! :) We took Cubby when he was about 9/10 months on vacation for a week and THAT was exhausting as well – their sleep routines/familiarity always gets thrown off… whew! I want to hear all about the trip though!!!

Welcome home! We did 11 days via plane ride with our 3 and 1 year olds at the beginning of July. Definitely need to 'roll with it' when things go wrong, but overall we had a great trip. Despite our already too long 10 hour trip home turning into a 29 hour trip home, complete with diaper blowout on our second flight.
