All-in-two diapers are all the craze, as they provide the affordability of a prefold system without the bulk. Prefolds are often thought to be the most economical system, but more families need to realize that AI2 systems can be just as affordable if not more affordable than a prefold system when coupled with a one size cover. Best Bottom Diapers use a one size cover with sized inserts, which reduces bulk during the infant months, and is available in a stay dry or natural fiber insert.
Although I did not get to review the overnight insert, which snaps on to the regular insert, I love the concept of adding absorption onto the existing inserts rather than having to purchase separate inserts or having too much bulk when doubling up. The snaps also allow them to stay together so they don’t shift around while you’re trying to get them onto baby or when they are wiggling or running around.
This diaper is a typical one size diaper cover range that will get a little snug on a chunky toddler, but will get the majority of kids through until potty training. The snaps and PUL are sturdy, the double leg gussets help contain messes, and the inserts are thick and absorbent, yet contoured to minimize bulkiness. This diapering system offers a balance of affordability, trimness, and durability; however, I would love to see a slightlylarger size range, longer waist tabs or the option of wing extensions to ensure the chunkiest of toddlers will be able to use the system through potty training.
