The Season for Sunscreen: What You Need To Know

Summer is in full swing and whether your kids are at the pool, playing sports or out in the sun, sunscreen is a must. What you may not know is many SPF claims are misleading and you will probably want to stay clear of certain ingredients in many of the sunscreens you find on the shelf. I am happy to say that I have had the opportunity to review three sunscreens from the top sunscreen recommendations by the EWG.

Last summer I bought Aveeno Baby sunscreen, thinking it seemed like the best choice on the supermarket shelf, and although it very well may have been, I was extremely disappointed to discover it rates a 7 (out of 10). EWG recommends any rating between 7-10 be avoided and ratings between 3-6 be used with caution. So if at all possible you will want to find sunscreens that rate between a 0-2, but the EWG has done the hard work for you by compiling a list of their top recommendations.

Want to know what your current sunscreen rates? Type it into their search and see! I will be posting reviews of All-Terrain, Episencial and Trukid over the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned!

With these top sunscreens being on the expensive side I'm anxious to hear your opinion of them. I am getting ready to purchase more sunscreen and have been wondering how they feel on the skin.
