I did not buy a infant positioning or support chair when my daughter was an infant, because I thought she would learn to sit up well in a couple months and then never use it again. Well I stand corrected! Although seats like the bebePOD serve as a positioning and support chair from about 3-6 months of age, it continues to serve a purpose well after those stages; especially with the bebePOD’s ability to convert from a chair, to a snack spot, to an activity table. Once I got the hang of how the conversion worked, it is a breeze to do, just don’t loose track of the pieces you are not using 😉
BebePods can either serve as a secure, appropriately sized chair for you little one to sit on the floor when the couch swallows them up or is too high from the ground for you to feel comfortable to step away, and fit children up to 12 months. It is a perfect alternative to a highchair when your infant starts solids as well, because it is much easier to wipe clean compared to most highchairs, and it helps support baby a little better when their backs aren’t quite strong enough in a high chair.
It is a good balance of softness and support, and is heavy enough that baby will not tip it over on its side and I love that it has a safety belt (safety reminder: remember to always place it on the floor, not on chairs or other high surfaces)! This is the perfect addition for added safety and is yet another feature that sets it aside from others on the market. It is available in a basic or deluxe model, but the new basic models are also convertible if you purchase a separate Deluxe or Accessory Kit later on. So you can invest all at once to save a few bucks or add on what you find you will need as you reach new ages and stages.
After baby has outgrown the chair it can be reused with additional children, has good resale, and don’t pack it up too fast, because your toddler will love to use it at play time with their dolls and stuffed friends. My daughter loves to put her baby dolls and stuffed animals in it when we do not have little visitors over and baby #2 will definitely find a comfortable home in it early next year! I think that bebePODs are great to have around the house and keep baby in one spot, while still offering them some entertainment and feeling of independence.
