Bagshot Row Bamboo diapers seem to have a little cult following and I wasn’t about to be left out of the loop. I first heard their name on Diaper Swappers and it seemed that they were a popular diaper I just had to learn more about. Bagshot Row Bamboo diapers are essentially snapless, fitted diapers that can be snappied, pinned or have snaps added to them for more convenience (DIY or with a custom snaps slot). They use trendy knits and fabrics on the outside layer to make the diapers fun and fashionable but the organic bamboo fabric is always against baby’s skin. I’d recommend ditching the cover and letting them show them off while you are piddling around at home.
The snap-in bamboo doublers are absorbent and long enough that you can fold them to create absorption where it is most needed, but aren’t too overwhelming. I kept it simple and just folded both in half when using this diaper and for younger infants the doublers can be left out as the front portion of the diaper, folded down, will help add absorption to the wet zone. And actually with a good cover the snapless versions of these diapers can be worn as a sort of contour diaper as well, so you don’t have to bother with snappis or pins. This is how we usually roll with our BSRBs, although I keep entertaining the idea of adding my own snaps with my snap press.
The only option I would like to see available (and this may be perfect to try and get if you snag a custom slot) is to have the option between having the two doublers serged or snapped together. Although my daughter definitely needs both inserts, younger infants or lighter wetters may benefit from having the option of just using one of the inserts. This diaper is still on the trimmer side for a fitted diaper of this style (and dries quicker too!) even with the two doublers serged together, so this is me brainstorming for some other preferences families may have.
The Itty Bitty newborn BSRBs, on the other hand, have the two serged doublers, but they are the length of the diaper so you don’t need to bother with any folding or adjusting. They are super soft for your baby’s new skin and remember you can fold the front of these little diapers down as well to adjust the rise and to leave ample room for baby’s umbilical cord to heal. Although designed to fit an average newborn up to 3 months old, some babies may outgrow them before this and other babies may be able to wear them for months after. If you use them more like a contour diaper after this point, you’ll be sure to get some more miles out of them.
Joyce typically stocks here Hyena Cart on Fridays (check out her spread that is sold out already after just hours!), but she has recently been offering custom slots on Thursday evenings as well. So get in line if you would like to try a trimmer version of a “designer” organic fitted diaper, without the designer tag. The Ultimate fit diaper is the most popular as it is comparable to most one size diapers in its size range, however, she does have newborn (approximately 0-3 months) and toddler diapers available on occasion as well.
A little more about BSRB Ultimate Fit Diapers:
As with each of my other fitteds, the Bagshot Row Bamboo Ultimate Fit is fully adjustable by folding down the rise. It is constructed from two absorbent layers of bamboo/organic cotton fleece with an outer layer of boutique cotton knit that is perfect for use with a snappi or pins. The difference, however, is in the wings and the new doubler system.
