Maggie’s Soap Nuts ~6 Winner Giveaway~ (Closed)

Sometimes I feel like my laundry room is a science lab as I am always trying new detergents, adjusting my wash cycles depending on what I am reviewing, and collecting different formulas and scents (I can’t help myself when I come across coupon codes and sales!). One of the first “laundry experiments” last year was with Maggie’s Soap Nuts and soap nuts are still a favorite item in my laundry room. I love the pure smell of freshness and the natural softness it leaves in my clothes or diapers. In addition, soap nuts are not only safe for sensitive skin, but are even good for it as they have even been used as a treatment for skin ailments for hundreds of years.

It was nice to have a chance to have the opportunity to try these products again as I have been busy reviewing other products and even after reviewing a dozen other detergents since last summer, soap nuts are still a top pick for my family. Maggie’s Pureland has both the traditional dried “nuts” (a dried berry, technically speaking) and a concentrated liquid version that contains organic essential oils. I personally prefer the liquid version, because I don’t have to worry about removing the sack of soap nuts from the load or steep my own version from the nuts.

Tip: I love to put a little liquid soap nuts in my cloth wipes solution. You can use the liquid version or steep your own from the nuts, but I like how there are tea tree and lavender essential oils already added to their liquid version. The amount you add per cup of water will vary on whether you use the concentrated version or steep your own liquid from soap nuts, but I use approximately 1/8 teaspoon of the concentrated version per cup of water.

The nuts are more cost effective and allow you the option to make your own liquid version to use in laundry or cleaning application, and are relatively easy to use, but as a busy mom I find myself reaching for the liquid version more than the nuts. Both work effectively and will always have a place in my laundry cabinet so if you haven’t tried them or would like to try one of the Maggie’s Pureland versions they are sponsoring a 6 winner giveaway

Samples were provided by Maggie’s Pureland for this review. No other compensation was received and the opinions and views are my own.

I have actually tried soap nuts (received a sample from a CD'ing store) before but as much as I liked them I hated trying to find the bag in my laundry before putting them into the dryer. I didn't want to make my own liquid & I didn't know they sold liquid already made! I would love to try that out!
