Baby Kangas are a Canadian-made one size pocket diaper that is known for its zippered pocket opening on the outside of the diaper, much like a kangaroo’s pouch. The zipper is extremely wide, making it very easy to shake out the insert into the diaper pail and is the biggest opening I have ever used to stuff a pocket diaper (great for piano hands like mine or daddy hands). They have recently launched 10 new custom colors that use a different lamination process on the polyester giving it a stretchiness that moves and grooves with your baby.
In addition to this update the new Baby Kangas have improved elastic for a stretchier fit and an extra flap to prevent wicking in the zipper. So if you’ve tried their original version, the updates definitely make this an even more durable and adjustable diaper and if you haven’t tried it I am confident it will work for many preferences and body types. I reviewed the diaper with the Jamtots One Size Hemp Stuffer, which worked well but you may need a doubler or additional insert for toddlers, naptime or heavy wetters.
I loved the ladybug color scheme reviewed and would be happy owning any of their new candy-colored fluff! My toddler still has a little room to grow in this diaper, unlike some of the more petite one size diapers, but this may make it a little bulkier on a young infant. I would recommend using a smaller insert for a young infant, unless they are a heavier wetter, if you would like a trimmer fit. The stretchiness of the PUL and generous pocket opening make this a great choice for a one size pocket diaper.
