I had the pleasure to review the new Princess Potty and Pirate Potty books by Scholastic and am thrilled to have another way to incorporate the topic of potty training in to our daily routine, and reading is a big one. We love to read books and although my daughter is 100% girl, she loves cars and pirates so both books are fun for us to read together. She has been asking to use the potty more often and although I am not saying these books are going to miraculously potty train her, these books are fun-to-read and provide positive ways of discussing potty training with your toddler.
I loved the thickness of the pages as they were thicker than preschool books, but thinner than board books. Perfect for toddlers fine-tuning their motors skills, but sturdy enough to avoid rips! There are also punch out hats in both books, a tiara in the Princess Potty book and a pirate hat in the Pirate Potty book as well as stickers to reward your little one and keep potty training a positive experience for everyone involved. I love how the stories cleverly and humorously incorporate a fairytale storyline and an X-marks the spot in the Pirate potty book so I would imagine these stories would still be enjoyable for your little one to read after they are potty trained.
