Rumparooz has come out with a new color called Root Beer, which is a brown hue perfect for boys and girls alike. I am excited to share this news with you, but even more to finally have the opportunity to review this diaper, as their products caught my eye quite some time ago. The two striking features about this diaper, in addition to the vibrant colors and patterns, are the highly customizable inserts and the “poop scoop” that forms from the unique inner leg gussets. I was able to review the snap version pictured above, and it was a diaper I reach for after each laundry day, thus I would recommend it to families looking for a customizable and reliable one size pocket diaper.
This diaper has been one of the softest “channeled elastic” leg casings on my daughter’s thighs, they are absorbent and have good adjustability. My 32+ lb. toddler is on the highest rise setting and the last snaps on each side, so I can see how a tall or thickly built boy may need a higher rise to get him through potty training, but this is a compromise most one size diapers need to make to have a realistic fit on a newborn. Regardless, it will get the majority of both boys and girls through potty training.
Another thing you are sure to notice and inquire about is a slightly higher price tag compared to other one size diapers made of similar textiles. I attribute this to a couple of things, but you can make the decision if it worth the extra dough for your needs. First of all, Rumparooz uses 1000 thread count polyester interlock fabric, and although I do not know the thread counts on other brands, you can feel it has a tighter knit and smoother feel. The other feature I mentioned earlier is the highly customizable 6-r soaker insert that has a contoured newborn insert that snaps onto the large insert to put the thickness in just the right paces.
Lastly, they have the patent-pending inner leg gussets that contain messier messes and are soft on thighs. I think that these features and the vibrant prints and colors can be worth the extra money, especially if you need the poop scoop and inner leg gussets to contain big or frequent messes. Remember you will still save significantly compared to disposable diapers even with a stash of some nice one size diapers. This diaper will work for most body types, ages, stages and families needs and they have some of the most adorable prints I have seen available. I would be happy to have a couple more of these diapers in my stash and look forward to trying the Joey Bunz and the lower settings of this diaper on my next child as a newborn.

My favorite feature is the sizing on these – I had a very tiny little full term baby (under 6 pounds) so the RAR OS was the first pocket diaper she fit! And after that, they stayed my favorite because those double gussets perform like crazy – they even keep in runny newborn EBF poops! They are expensive, so I only own two, but it is a heck of a diaper.

Another product I noticed on their site is Baby Legs. I can say from experience that these are wonderful! They make diaper changing so much easier (as opposed to taking off pants every single time and then trying to get them back on). Also, some brands of my cloth diapers tend to leak a bit around the legs and if my girl has pants on, then you have to change the pants too. If she's got her Baby Legs on, then she's still warm enough for running around the house, but I don't worry about them getting wet from a diaper blow out. I also love to use them with a dress when we go out for extra layers. Everyone who sees them wants to know where I got them.
