Skin Free/Blue Ridge Gypsy Review

I am a huge bath girl and also love to feel pampered like I'm at the spa...maybe because I can't afford a spa otherwise! I was able to review a few products by the Skin Free and Blue Ridge Gypsy skin care lines and was very impressed with their company and products. There are many “natural” skincare products on the market, but few are rated by the Environmental Working Group with “0” toxicity. Skin Free Skincare has that honor. Created by a practicing pharmacist in response to patient’s needs, this line is safe, effective, and affordable.

Each product is formulated using natural oils and butters with specific moieties that actually do what we promise they will do. Sometimes they even do more. As a result, the texture of the lotions are going to be different than what you are used to. If you have ever used an emollient moisturizing product you will have a good idea of the thick consistency of the lotions, meaning they are moisture rich rather than filled with water and other ingredients. These products are effective for those with extremely sensitive skin, eczema, psoriasis, and allergies, these products are also great for the eco-conscious consumer who is looking for the perfect skincare products.

Skin Free keeps your skin free from petroleum, fragrances, colorants, and harmful chemicals by using all natural vegetable ingredients. They never test on animals and are conscious of only using replenishable ingredients. Their goal is to to truly offer “A New Direction In Skincare”. I reviewed the Super Moisture Butter cream and it was thick and buttery to put on and my skin held moisture extremely well. It feels a thicker and (for the lack of a better term) greasier than conventional lotions, but it really kept my skin buttery soft. Although it can be used all over your body I particularly recommend it on your knees, elbows, hands and other rougher spots, especially this winter season.

The Sugar scrub was fantastic and smoothed my legs and body down as good as any spa could! A little bit goes a long way so take a small amount and work it before you use more. And have a razor blade nick or two? No fear, there are no salts in the sugar scrub to sting on your legs. Finish pampering yourself with a long, hot soak in some Blue Ridge Gypsy bath salts and you will feel like a queen. Seriously, if you only try one of their products I highly recommend the scented bath salts (or any of the scented Blue Ridge Gypsy products as long as you're not sensitive to scents!). I tried the Mandarin Vanilla scent and it was pure heaven. Blue Ridge Gypsy conveniently shares a shopping cart with Skin Free and uses the same safe formulations, but with the addition of organic essential oils.

Buy it!
Visit www.skinfree.net and www.blueridgegypsy.com to stock up on some pure, natural luxuries for your bath and body. It would also make a perfect gift!

Sampler products were provided by Skin Free for this review.
