Happy New Year & 2009 Reflections

2009 marked the beginning of The Cloth Diaper Report from it’s brainstorming stages in February to my decision to make it what it is today. I feel so humbled and blessed to have the opportunity to do what I do and that I have enough readers and supporters that allow me to embrace 2010 with open arms and new review opportunities. What started as my way to share my experiences with many brands of diapers and my search for the best products with other families (or a way to rationalize my addiction in purchasing and researching them), it has been such a rewarding experience.

After countless late nights, dozens of hours a week and a lot of determination I have come to learn about innumerable brands and styles of diapers, detergents, baby gear and other family friendly products and all of the research, ratings and writing that goes along with a review blog. I have organized and reorganized, updated and changed things all in hopes to make it the most helpful to you. My goal is, afterall, to have reviews that can continue to be accessed to aid all of you in making purchase decisions or in learning about new brands and products. I have gotten to know mothers, families, other bloggers and the minds behind many of these products and I hate to sound cheesy, but it really gives me hope knowing that there are wonderful people in our world trying to do what’s best for families and our environment.

As we got ready to take our tree and holiday decorations down this week I could not help but snap some pictures of cloth diapers under the tree. This is about three quarters of our stash, as others were in the diaper pail or some new ones are in the closet waiting for baby #2 down the road. I tried to angle and stack them so most of the different brands and colors could be seen, but aren’t they just gorgeous? I love all the brands I get to review, but keep finding myself buying more for “research purposes only” or “for our next baby”. My husband asks me regularly “what do you love more than cloth diapers/blogging?” and although the answer is obvious (my family!) it’s all just so darn fun!

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of my blog, whether you are a reader, sponsor or fellow blogger who has supported me in my endeavors. I anxiously await the new year, as I cannot wait to share with you the new products I am discovering and look forward to all of the things I have yet to explore.

Happy New Year!
