Finally a multifunction product to save you room in your diaper bag and money in your wallet. The Sprout Shell serves as a infant car seat cover, shopping cart cover, restaurant chair cover and nursing cover all in one. I purchased a nursing cover and a shopping cart/highchair cover after my daughter was born and spent almost $100 for the two items. I never purchased a cover for my car seat carrier, so I am guessing I would have spent closer to $150 for products with all of these functions separately. The Sprout Shell slashes these costs in half or a third at about $40 a shell and reduces bulk in your diaper bag. 


The Sprout Shell help guard baby from a windy day, keep bothersome on-lookers at a distance and keeps germs in grocery stores or at restaurants away. The elasticized bottom keeps the cover snugly over the carrier, shopping cart or highchair, and I love that it helps mama stay more modest while nursing in public. It is inevitable that baby pulls and tugs at nursing covers and blankets and this elastic helps minimize that, yet the cover is light enough that baby doesn't overheat. Covers are also available in corduroy, which is a little thicker and may be appropriate for fall or winter weather. 


The only con of this cover is that it does not have padding as a shopping cart or highchair cover, however, still keeps icky germs away. It would not have the same compactness or lightness as a nursing cover if it did have padding, so this is a trade off for having a multitasking product. If you prefer cushioning for this the Sprout Shell can still serve as an affordable car seat cover and nursing cover in one, or you can choose to use the Sprout Shell in lieu of a padded shopping cart cover when traveling or when space is at a minimum. This is a great product that can be used for years after nursing and infant car seats as a cart or highchair cover so I highly recommend it for families and as a shower gift.
