Exergen Temporal Scanner Review

We are in flu and cold season and if we haven't all had a bout of the sniffles or flu already, we are dodging it with our lives. Having a house full of sick kids, husbands, or trying to care for your family if you are sick is a nightmare, but not having the right equipment to care for you and your family just makes things more complicated. I will confess, up until this past month I could probably count the number of times I had taken my daughter's temperature....on one hand. Getting an infant or toddler to sit still for a traditional thermometer is no an easy task, and if she only felt warm to the touch I didn't even bother.

I came across the Exergen Temporal Scanner and had to have it. It can be used for old and young and it takes your temperature in a matter of seconds, not minutes. It is easy to use, shuts off automatically after use (no having to replace the batteries when your little one has a fever and you discover the batteries are dead).  What can I say, I am in love. Just place the thermometer flat on the center of the forehead, press the button, slide it to the temple/hairline and release the button. It's a cinch.

The Exergen Temporal Scanner is available at major retailers, including Walmart and Walgreens, and is well worth the price. If you want a user-friendly, accurate thermometer I highly recommend this one. Are you trying to conceive? Another incentive for grabbing this thermometer is to use it for tracking your temperature to guesstimate your ovulation date ;-)

I like that The patented "arterial heat balance" (AHB) software then synthesizes the two separate readings to accurately determine and display body temperature.

I learned that the best place to take your temperature is at your heart! And this device is almost as good using the major artery from the heart.

blessedmama said...

You have to make sure that there is no sweat or hair underneath the thermometer in order to get the most accurate reading!

I learned that the thermometer has to measure the patient's temp as well as the ambient temp and do complicated mathematical procedures in order to give the right reading. Also, my friend has one and it's awesome.

I love this!
Great to know that temperature taking doesnt have to be invasive. Just hold it over a major artery not abstructed my hair, clothing or sweat, and get it done fast.
My kids would love this too.

The feature I love (which isn't really a feature) is that it is non-invasive! My kids were sick not too long ago and I had the worst time getting them to hold still to get their temperature-this would solve that problem!

First it scans like a video camera, capturing naturally emitted infrared heat from the arterial blood supply at about 1000 “frames” per second, locking in the highest temperature it senses. That's pretty impressive. Thanks for the giveaway!

I thought the way it measured temp was interesting:
The TemporalScanner has patented software, providing arterial heat balance. This unique process determines temperature by accurately measuring the balance between the tissues warming from arterial blood and tissues cooling (warming) caused by heat loss (gain) to the environment.
