Uncle Sam Cereal Review

I remember when I was pregnant I had a bottle of prenatal vitamins the size of a gallon of milk that I could never keep down and had difficulty finding a variety of foods filled with all of the essential vitamins and minerals recommended. Whether you’re pregnant, nursing or doing your best to take care of your bodies it can sometimes be hard to get all of the necessary vitamins and minerals in your diet. They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so what better way to start your day than with a high-fiber cereal chocked full of all the proper nutrition to start your day.

Not into healthy tasting food and cereals? Be creative and use Uncle Sams cereal in other recipes. I found a great recipe for Chunky Monkey Muffins from Elle’s New England Kitchen you will want to check out for a breakfast or snack. Another great idea, implied in the cereal box is to add natural and healthy sweetness by adding a cup of fresh berries with the cereal. I have a bit of a sweet tooth so this is the perfect way for me to add sweetness without pouring sugar over it.

And when you just want to add more nutrition to some of your favorite breads and cookies, U.S. Mills has lots of great recipes for all of their cereals. My favorites for Uncle Sam cereal are: Banana Bread, Chewy Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cookies, Rise’ n Shine Cookies, and Raisin Walnut Muffins. I always have the ingredients for these recipes on hand and my husband isn’t crazy about “healthy cereal” and I want to encourage healthy eating so I need to be creative! My husband will never say no to a chocolate chip peanut butter cookie and I feel better letting my daughter eat cookies if I know it’s not just sugar, but is packed with great nutrition as well.

Why a High Fiber Cereal like Uncle Sams?
For more than 100 years, physicians, dieticians, nutritionists and fitness experts have recommended all-natural, 100 percent whole grain Uncle Sam Cereal for its many benefits, including pregnancy nutrition. With 10 grams of dietary fiber, Uncle Sam is a filling choice for those looking for a healthy breakfast option when they’re eating for two! Moreover, high fiber may <babyproducts.guide@about.comhelp reduce the risk of diabetes, aid in lowering cholesterol and promote regularity.

It’s also important for pregnant moms to watch their sugar intake. The American Heart Association has stated that Americans need to reduce their sugar intake. The article specifically points out that a frosted whole grain cereal has about three teaspoons of sugar. With less than 1g sugars per serving,  Uncle Sam Cereal has less than 1Ž4 teaspoon.

Uncle Sam cereal was provided through Duffy & Shanley, Inc. to complete this review.

  36. Uncle Sam's actually has 10g of fiber per 3/4 cup! Most cereals list fiber per 1 cup.

If you are to look at the amount of fiber per cup, Uncle Sam's actually has which means that Uncle Sam's actually has 13.3 grams per cup! What a great cereal, and I say that as a 30 year old, healthy and slim man.
