I have been one of the first to have the opportunity to test this product and the testing is going fabulously. Fresh, clean, residue and bacteria-free fluff, which should be your goal with any detergent and wash routine. My review article wasn’t scheduled to go up for a couple of weeks, but my review has been going so well and I was so excited about this new products that I couldn’t wait any longer to tell you about it. Especially because I know many of you are still in search of a solution to odor and bacteria that is safe for cloth diapers. When cloth diapering it is essential to use a cloth diaper safe detergent, which will also save you time and money, because your diapers will last longer and you will avoid needing to strip diapers of residue or treat your baby’s sore bottom from enzymes, perfumes or other potentially irritating ingredients contained in common detergents.
Even the safest detergents for cloth diapers have been missing one key element until now: the ability to disinfect. This often becomes an issue causing rashes, odor and unhappy bottoms. Although sunlight is the cheapest and most commonly recommended means of disinfecting it is questionable whether sunlight is able to penetrate through the layers of fabrics to eliminate all bacteria. Thirsties has come up with the perfect solution in a two-step detergent process. The pre-wash and superwash both target essential things in each step to safely clean and disinfect your diapers.
This two-step system will save you time, energy and potentially money. You may save money on energy, because you are using fewer wash cycles to clean your diapers, reduce your water bill as a result of fewer cycles, and can save money by eliminating the need to purchase additives such as vinegar, bleach and oxy-bleach products (which are not even recommended by most manufacturers). You will also save your diapers from pre-maturely wearing from the use of harsh chemicals you may have tried using to disinfect your diapers.
Your cloth diaper laundry routine should include a cold rinse or wash cycle anyways, so all you will need to do is add 1/2 oz. of the pre-wash in this step and 1/2 oz. of super wash on a heavy duty cycle with an extra rinse. I have to tell you I LOVE THE CONTAINERS! It has a measuring spout so you just squeeze the bottle, the detergent starts to fill in the top and pour it in once it reaches 1/2 oz!
Each value pack will last you for 4 months if you wash your diapers every two days. Add up the savings of energy, water, other cleaning agents and creams/treatments for rashes over the 4 months and it will probably cost a similar amount to what you are currently spending on detergent. So don’t be turned off by the price tag, because if you buy the value set (which I HIGHLY recommend as they are formulated to be used together) it comes to 0.25 cents for each prewash load and 0.25 cents for each wash load. So although it initially seems like it costs slightly more per load than some other leading cloth diaper detergents you must remember to consider how much you will save on laundry additives and/or energy costs. (plus the time saved from the need to strip, disinfect or purchase new diaper to replace damaged ones…is priceless!).
The only downside is that although the detergents may also be used with whites, it is not recommended for all of you laundry. I say this is a downside only because I typically recommend using the same cloth diaper safe detergent for all of your loads to make life easier. I do, however, highly recommend this product, because it targets the needs of cloth diapers, particularly deodorizing and disinfecting them in a gentle, cloth diaper safe manner. And it really isn’t that much of a hassle to have more than one kind of detergent on hand and in this case you would only need one other kind of detergent for darks and colors.
Update from Thirsties: The wash is perfectly safe to use on MOST colors. The only color laundry we advise against is HAND-DYED textiles. In addition, the probiotic and whitening power of the wash is activated only in hot water. So if you prefer to wash your colors in COLD (as most people do) you lose some of the product’s probiotic capabilities and ability to lift stains…but it certainly doesn’t hurt…I notice a BIG difference in staining now that we started using our wash on our clothes. The only thing I do — as a precaution — is to wash all NEW clothing initially in cold to prevent bleeding. So if you choose to only use this detergent for your cloth diapers, I suggest that you use a cloth diaper approved detergent for your other loads of laundry to prevent build up in the washing machine (this is one of the reasons why I suggest using a CD approved detergent for all of your laundry). So if you have another CD safe detergent that you love, you don’t need to get rid of it, just use it for your darks and colors, keeping the washer residue free and give this system a try to keep your diapers odor and bacteria free!
This detergent has made it’s way into my Top 5 detergent picks for cloth diapers.

Description:
Finally a cloth diaper detergent that does it all! A wash that truly lives up to its name: SUPER! The amazing probiotic component of Thirsties® Super Wash actually introduces constructive bacteria to your wash which reduces odors and diaper rash. It’s the only wash of its kind that offers this important ingredient.
Most detergents on the market will ‘clean’ your diapers, but none of them works as hard as Thirsties® Super Wash to eliminate odor, reduce diaper rash, and whiten & brighten your reusable diapers. Adding an oxygen bleach booster to your regular detergent will certainly disinfect, but it is very harsh on your baby’s delicate skin and will deteriorate your diapers at a much more rapid rate. As well, using a booster also adds up the expense to launder each load. Thirsties® Super Wash is completely safe against your baby’s skin, yet has everything you need to thoroughly clean your diapers, and is custom formulated specifically to suit the needs of your reusable diaper laundry.
In addition, most detergents contain harmful enzymes, artificial fragrances, man-made whiteners, and leave behind harmful residues. Thirsties® Super Wash is entirely non-toxic and is just as safe as rainwater against your baby’s skin.
Use our washes from Day One on your cloth diapers to maintain that ‘like-new’ appearance. Thirsties® Super Wash effectively brightens and whitens your diapers–you will be amazed! Test it yourself by reserving some of your dingiest used diapers. Wash some of them in Thirsties® Super Wash and watch them brighten more and more with every cycle. After several wash cycles, compare your dingy diapers still on reserve to the diapers washed with Thirsties® Super Wash and you will notice a difference.
Use:
Pre-clean with 1/2 ounce Thirsties® Pre-Wash on COLD (if your machine has a pre-wash cycle, use it; if not, use a short cycle). Follow with 1/2 ounce of Thirsties® Super Wash in heavy cycle on HOT with an extra rinse. DO NOT USE ON HAND-DYED TEXTILES. We recommend testing for color fastness prior to using on dyed textiles.
Also available in a Value-Pack: Thirsties® Pre-Wash (32oz) and Thirsties® Super Wash (32oz)!

Purchase in value packs and search for retailers who offer free shipping promos or coupon codes. Need a minimum purchase for free shipping? Buy your stash (3 value sets) for the year and I’m sure you’ll reach the minimum for free shipping at most retailers.

This new product has me very excited! I am currently figuring out my routine (I am new to cloth diapering) and while I want to let my diapers dry in the sun, the rainy season is starting here so that will be impossible. Thank you for a great review!
I've been looking for a product that disinfects my diapers! I've been hesitant about using bleach or oxy bleach & this sounds like a much better alternative.
I've started soaking my diapers in a bucket of water with Rockin Green Soap before washing to get rid of ammonia, it works, but it's a hassle. I have a front loading washing & would LOVE to be able to just do a prewash & one wash cycle instead of the 2 or 3 cycles I sometimes end up doing now.

I would love to try this set because I can never seem to rid my diapers of stink despite my attempts at stripping them! When not stripping them, I wash them with charlie's soap with an extra rinse cycle…then I soak them in hot water and do a hot wash, cold rinse with extra rinse cycle. I hang them to dry and often sun outside.

this would be a great product to have. currently I run 3 cycles to rinse, soak and wash my dipes and then I still occasionally have to strip them.

Oh, pick me! I have been jumping around detergents, trying to find one that works. I'd love to try this one out.
I would LOVE to try this detergent! I've been looking for one that would not only clean but also disinfect the diapers. I read that it's good for sensitive skin, which is necessary for my son's tender skin. I currently use Original Powder Tide, and though I haven't had problems with normal use, it did not help when I had stink issues from going to long between washes while we were out of town!

Oh, I would love to try this! I currently put my diapers through a pre-soak, wash & rinse everytime to get all the soap and oils out, but sometimes it has to be done twice! I would love to cut down on my water bill and know that I got my diapers really clean.

Who wouldn't want this product?! It's the answer to the cloth diaper laundering dilemma-cleans and disinfects! Save time and money! woo-hoo! Right now, I am washing with cloth-diaper safe powder detergent, adding drop of tea tree oil for anti-bacterial/deodorizing and line drying to get the sun's bleaching and disinfectant properties. Way too much work! I want to win this badly!

This set sounds great! I'm so tired of experimenting with so many different detergents and additives to try to get the stink out of my diapers. My current routine is a cold rinse, (HE machine) followed by a long, hot wash with tablespoon of Rockin'Green (just started using this) and another short warm wash cycle. Bleach and strip once a month. Thanks for the review and giveaway!

I'd love to try this product. For the past month or so, we've been having major laundry woes. I tried a different detergent, and it gave my son a blistered rash. We never had any problems before, but now I can't seem to get things back on track. Between ammonia stink and rashes, the diapers are driving me a bit nuts, and I hope the Thirsties prewash and wash will solve it all!

I would love to try this system! We have a very small European style washer/dryer combination. Sometimes I just feel like my diapers aren't getting as clean as they could be and we have a problem with stains.
I think this product looks *Awesome*…the ability to disinfect and clean is going to be so helpful in helping me to convince my SO that we can get things superclean at home, and should prevent Mr. Sensitive Skin from getting any sort of rash…who knew that motherhood meant that you'd get so psyched over laundry products!
Oh! And our current routine is to do a cold wash no detergent, then a hot wash with Charlie's Soap, a rinse, and then line-dry…ideally outside if it's not too wet and cold.

I would like to try this since after only a month of cloth diapering I'm fighting stinkies with my diapers. I start my normal wash routine with a cold rinse, then a hot wash with a free and clear detergent and an extra rinse. I've tried vinegar, bleach, and a different free and clear detergent and none have helped much.

I want to try out this product because I love everything else Thristies makes! I would absolutely love to see how the laundry soap works! We currently use CHarlies Soap but are having build up issues with it. I would love to try something different! Thanks for the great giveaway!

I need this product because I'm super scared to do my laundry now that we've ventured into solids. I'm currently not using the best CD option (eh hem Tide Free…) and need something better!

I need this product because I am so sick of dealing with stinky diapers. I JUST did a strip cycle. I don't have leaks issues I have stink issues. When DS pees its smelling fishy. They aren't getting clean!
We have very hard water. I do a cold rinse, hot wash, then 3 cold rinses. I have been using powdered Cheer because I don't have any cloth friendly soap. I can't take the smell anymore!!

I'd like this prodect, although I havent cloth diapered yet (my LO will be born in Jan) everyone tells me diapers stink. So it would be nice to have this.
I also really want to try the thirties diaper covers
