When I started cloth diapering I started to notice diaper sprayers listed on many sites, but my few cloth diapering friends at the time had never used them. One of my friends found out that her sister had used a sprayer and LOVED it so, of course, I decided I had to have one. It took me months to get around to installing it, first of all because my DD was breastfed and I didn’t have a need to use it for a number of months, and also because I was too timid to try installing it myself. After it was installed I liked it fine, but found that I didn’t use it all that much and then we started to find little puddles of water behind the toilet. No matter how much we tightened it or fiddled with it we couldn’t seem to fix it and the company that labeled the product referred us to the manufacturer to resolve any issues or complaints. We uninstalled it and the sprayer is still sitting under my bathroom sink.
So I had almost written off diaper sprayers as something that could be useful to have for some, and I looked forward to using it for the potty training days, but felt as though I could do without. Until one day I came across The Diaper Sprayer online and noticed immediately that the tubing for the sprayer was different. It looked heavy duty compared to the clear plastic tubing from my sprayer before and I started having second thoughts. Maybe I should give diaper sprayers another try. Looser stools were a pain to clean without getting my hands dirtier than I’d like and I always tell mamas to try more than one style of cloth diapers or baby carriers before writing them off, so I decided to apply this same principle to diaper sprayers.
Overall Rating: 8.5
We love that we can adjust the water pressure with ease and that it has a nice, long, sturdy tube. It would be nice to have a mounting option that wasn’t permanent, however, like a toilet tank mount or double sided tape.
Ease of Installation: 8.5
My husband is no Mr. Rooter (sorry honey ) and was able to install it relatively quickly with a little adjusting after to get it just right. It seems a lot more intimidating to install than it is and they provide clear instructions along with the sprayer. You don’t want to get it too loose or tight, but now that it’s on, no leaks! See online installation instructions here.
Ease of Use: 10
It is easy to use and adjust the water pressure. No complaints here.
