So I originally heard about Charlie Soap from my friend Rebecca at Sprouting Up, but in my initial detergent research decided to hold off on using it because of reports of chemical burns. I am glad I decided to come back and research further, because the bottom line is, if properly used, there shouldn’t be any problems with this detergent (unless, of course you or your child is allergic to any ingredients used. So use common sense and read the ingredients to any detergent before use). I know I mention this often, but do not neglect DISINFECTING your diapers every 1-2 weeks with direct sunlight (multitask by line drying your laundry in the sun!) or with a product like Mio Fresh. Your baby could have a reaction regardless of the detergent used if this isn’t done.

Charlie Soap also makes an all purpose cleaner that can be used to clean just about any surface. I used it to spot clean the soft fabric section of a used jumparoo I bought for my DD and spot cleaned the heck out of it and it cleaned up really nicely. Good as new! So if you’re looking for a detergent or cleaner made from natural ingredients Charlie Soap is an excellent choice I would recommend.
