Maggie’s Soap Nuts Review

Maggie’s Soap Nuts first caught my eye during The Great Cloth Diaper Hunt while I was exploring and discovering new websites and products. Maggie’s Soap Nuts grow on trees. They are 100% natural and safe for even the most sensitive skin. Soap Nuts are the dried fruit of the Chinese Soapberry tree and “contain saponin, a natural cleaner used for thousands of years to clean clothes”. You can use Maggie’s Soap Nuts with hand washables, wool, silk, cloth diapers, whites, colors, everything! Maggie’s Soap Nuts naturally soften and add body to clothes, so the more you wash with Soap Nuts the softer your fabrics will feel with no extra cost for fabric softeners or extra synthetic materials. They also keep blacks pitch black, colors vibrant and whites as bright as day one.

My Maggie’s Soap Nutssamples arrived in the mail via UPS and I was very excited to get full size samples to try in both the original nuts and the new liquid version. I tried the liquid version first with my daughter’s cloth diapers and when I took them out of the dryer they smelled like I had hung them out to dry. That crisp, fresh, odorless smell. So even my Tide Free had some residue or odors. I have used the liquid detergent and soap nuts with my laundry all week and I am happy to say I am converted! I am satisfied knowing there is no residue, it’s natural, and I can use it for more than just laundry. I am excited to see my clothes stripped of chemicals and residues and soften as I use the soap nuts over time. It even cleans your washing machine as you do laundry!
The more I learned about this product and used it, I was fascinated to discover that the cleansing properties of the soap buts can be used topically as a body wash and skin treatment for eczema or psoriasis, as a natural insect repellent, and are so safe and natural they could be used as a toothpaste or a food-safe kitchen cleaner for countertops, appliances and sinks. Maggie’s Soap Nuts will also becoming out with a vegetable wash and pet wash next month so keep your eyes peeled for those great products! I have branched out this week and I am currently using it in my cloth wipes solution (I love that the liquid version already contains essential oils) and also used one of their recipes for a household cleaner and insect repellant.
My recommendations for their products are the new Lavender Tea Tree 64 oz. liquid detergent and Maggie’s Soap Nuts Kilo Size Bag. These are both the “value size” versions of the liquid detergent or soap nuts. And all their prices INCLUDE SHIPPING! My preference for laundry is the liquid detergent, but you will want to grab some soap nuts to use in other “recipes”.

Samples of liquid and original soap nuts were provided by Maggie’s Pureland for this review.

I like Maggie's joke kit. I think that shows her humor–just the idea that she knows it looks a little silly…but according to your review…you would get it, try it, and love it! I would LOVE to try it!
